Below you will find recipes that use maple syrup. Some are recipes submitted by customers that have purchased our maple syrup. Others are family favorites.

Oatmeal Buttermilk Waffles
1 c. flour
1/4 c. white or yellow cornmeal
1 c. uncooked rolled oats
2 T. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3 eggs
2 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. melted shortening
     In large bowl, stir together dry ingredients. In separate bowl, mix eggs and buttermilk with fork. Pour over dry ingredients. Add shortening and stir until dry ingredients are moistened.
Pour some of the mixture into preheated waffle iron until about 2/3 full. Bake until golden crisp. Repeat and serve immediately with pure maple syrup. Makes 4-6 large waffles.

Bulk Pancake Mix
4 c. quick-cooking rolled oats
2 c. flour
2 c. whole wheat flour
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. powdered milk
3 T. baking powder
1 1/2 T. cinnamon
5 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
     Mix all ingredients together and store in an air-tight container. I use glass mason jars. This mix can be put into jars and given as gifts with the following instructions: To make the pancakes, you need to: Beat 2 eggs, add 1/3 c. oil. Add 2 cups of the above bulk pancake mix alternately with 1 c. water. Pour onto lightly greased hot griddle and cook until lightly browned on each side. Serve with pure maple syrup. YUM!

Maple Oatmeal Bread(for the breadmaker)
1 c. water
1/3 c. pure maple syrup
3 T. oil
1/2 T. salt
3/4 c. old-fashioned or quick rolled oats
2 1/2 c. bread flour(I use regular flour)
2 1/4 tsp. yeast
     Put into breadmaker in the order listed. Use basic setting. Makes one  loaf.

Maple Butter
Soften butter, stir in pure maple syrup to taste. Store in refrigerator. Great on toast, muffins, biscuits.

Baked Apples
Fill the center of  pared and cored apples with maple syrup. Dot with butter. Bake at 350 until tender, basting with syrup during the process.

Maple Milkshake
Use 1 pint of milk, plain yogurt, or ice cream. Blend with 1 ripe banana and 2 Tbsp. of maple syrup. Blend until smooth.

Uses for Pure Maple Syrup
- Jazz up baked beans with pure maple syrup.
- Use maple syrup instead of sugar to sweeten coffee or tea.
- Pour over vanilla ice cream and top with chopped walnuts or pecans.
- Pour over oatmeal, cream of wheat, or onto your cold cereal instead of sugar.
- Add maple syrup to warm milk for a soothing bedtime drink.
